Kitesurfing and wingfoiling at Punta Pellaro: the spot
Punta Pellaro is the kitesurf and wingfoil spot of Reggio Calabria (Calabria, Italy), on the Calabrian shore of the Strait of Messina, a few minutes from the airport. Thanks to the regular thermal wind of the Strait and to a bay with shallow, flat water close to the shore, it is considered one of the best spots in Italy, for beginners as well as experienced riders. Blue Tribe A.S.D. is the school based on the beach.
The kiters in front of Etna are a show even from the beach: on a windy afternoon Punta Pellaro is worth a visit even if you do not go into the water.
